Description
In nuclear structure theory there are two intrinsic facts: so far the exact theory has not been yet found, and (almost) all existing models depend on parameters. This leads us to the following: in order be able to perform calculations and predictions for the existing and yet-unknown nuclear data, the values of such parameters must be determined, but keeping in mind that such parameters carry uncertainties since the exact theory does not exist (yet).
We wish to present how the parameter optimisation is of great importance in order to obtain the optimal parameter values, by removing ``parametric correlations'', and show how to obtain parametric uncertainties, and how they eventually propagate to the mean-field predictions, in the individual nucleonic levels, but also in the collective properties.
